Brief minutes :
KCAP – On June 5, 2025, EnGIO organised an event at iconic Town Hall, Kolkata in association with Kolkata Municipal Corporation where the Draft Kolkata Climate Action Plan (KCAP) report for public consultation was released by city mayor Firhad Hakim as well as other officials alongside frontline climate experts of the country.
COP 30- On September 2, 2025, EnGIO organised a curtain-raiser programme on COP 30 where frontline national and international experts participated in hybrid mode, including COP 30 Chair and CEO, to discuss the possible outcomes of the global event including what it would mean for the country as well as for West Bengal. The Consulate of Brazil, Press Club Kolkata, CANSA collaborated.
Green Puja, 2025 – During September – October 2025, EnGIO organised the Green Puja event like earlier years – continuing since 2007 – to award the community pujas which have done well on green quotient; as well promoted environmental awareness. Nearly 50 juries including Consulate members, senior officials, academics and environmental experts including youths were part of the judgement process that covered nearly 300 pujas over a week of judgement. A range of government organisation and corporate bodies.
School disaster awareness , 2025 – During February – march 2025, EnGIO undertook an awareness and advocacy programme on disaster among students of 15 schools located in remote and disaster vulnerable areas of Sundarbans covering nearly 1000 students and other local stakeholders. Department of Disaster Management, Govt of West Bengal supported the initiative.
Remal project, 2024-25 – During Dec 2024 to March 2025, EnGIO undertook a programme with support of UNICEF to facilitate Post Remal recovery and resilience building in Sundarbans .
